Jane here, thinking about festive food, after several mouth-watering posts from fellow Lady Killers lately. You folk across the Pond have already made a great start with your wonderful Thanksgiving menus – someday I must arrange to be in the States at this time of year – and then all this talk of superb markets…Well, in a few weeks we Brits will join in.
Richard and I are having a quiet Christmas Day this year – just the two of us (and our two spaniels) for the actual Day. We like it that way, as long as we can get together with family and friends before and after. We’ll have a duck, rather than a turkey, a glass or two of something tasty, and of course those traditional favourites, mince pies and Christmas cake, just in case we haven't had enough to eat! Must watch out for the dogs though, they show kleptomaniac tendencies if we don’t pay attention. At a recent Christmas I was busy playing with a camera I’d been given, investigating how it behaved indoors. I forgot Copper the dog, till Richard suddenly said, “There’s a good shot there, but be quick!”
We saved the cake, much to Copper's disappointment.
