This is Sharan and I really haven't moved from the computer in a week. I'm on the Bible Code now. Since I believe in primary sources, I read the article from 1994 by the men who first programed their computers to find coded messages in Genesis. I have always heard that the right set of parameters can make statistics say anything. Even without the algorithms their conclusions seemed pretty dicey to me. I also read an article by some people who got even better results using a Hebrew translation of War and Peace, but I don't know what they entered to get it. I concluded that these guys need to get out of the office and go to the beach.
Rhys suggested and I had already been considering taking a very unoffical survey, the top ten results to go in the book, if I get that many responses. So...If you knew that the world was going to end in a week, not just your world, but everyone's, what would you want to do beforehand? Relatively short answers are best but anything goes. You can let me know here or, if you prefer privacy, through my website www.sharannewman.com I've only got a few weeks before the deadline so feel free to pass the request along to anyone who might be interested.
I close with a picture that should remind people that seeing is not always enough for believing. My firend, Joan Hess, and I were present for this alien autopsy in Roswell a few years ago. I guess that must prove there are little grey men.
Take my loved ones to Hawaii and swim, eat, sing, dance, love, and be happy until the end

Gather my family together and have a big happy celebration of life.
But I'd also love to go on safari before I die, maybe a quick flight over the Masai Mara?
Oh, and go to confession, just in case.

I'm such a sceptic, I don't believe the world will truly end just like that. After a war perhaps it might, but then we'd all be busy simply surviving for the last few days. But if everyone else was convinced their time was short, I'd have a good party with my loved-ones, maybe even visit somewhere nice, but I'd also buy up shares and property, which would be going for a song. When the world hadn't ended after all, I'd sell them again. One way to make a fortune - convince your fellow-humans that the end of the world is coming!

I'd like to say I would fulfill every thing I wanted to do ever in my life... but I am not sure if I actually would. Particularly if other people know the world was ending... chaos.
I would probably spend it with my loved ones, doing what they wanted to do, or doing nothing with them at all.

Thanks - please let others know. I was planning a party for Dec. 23, 2012. Even if the world doesn't end, it's a good time to celebrate.

Drat, I hope my book to be launched January 2013 was not going to be a bestseller!

I'm not one to get on the spaceship to avoid the world ending, just too much a scaredy-cat (think James Blish's _Cities in Flight_ or Gene Wolfe's _Book of the New Sun_. But I would try to see my loved ones and to talk with the ones I wouldn't be able to see: the family I was born into and the one that we all built. I'd thank again all those who helped me when I was ill -- and I'd probably still be angry about what I consider the injustices of the world. And, I'd read more books.
