Repeating myself, but this first line has me curious about the last:

Good choices, Staci. You and Mysti always manage to make the end of the LK week interesting.

I like your juxtaposition of quick and pithy vs. long and involved, either of which can great intrigue.

Hi Camille and Liz!
I've never read The Island of Dr. Moreau, so I don't know the last line, but with all the talk this week about last lines, I checked the three books I mentioned in my blog to see if their last lines also circled back to their first.
Of the three, my favorite was from I Scream, You Scream:
"Actually," I said, "that's what I love about ice cream. It melts, but it's still absolutely delicious."
In the opening, she talks about coloring inside the lines, which is always neat and tidy. The last paragraph is such a contrast, with the messiness of melting ice cream, that I have to wonder if the character discovers that messiness is sometimes perfectly fine. Guess I need to read the book!

Yesterday discovered Google Books, so looked up last line. and read a synopsis. Not on my TBR list.
