Camille is celebrating, all right — barely cleaned up after a Christmas party and ready for New Year's Eve. I know that Bethlehem is in desert country and all, but this season just cries out for winter! White puffy paint in the corners of the window panes doesn't cut it. No real snow, no sleigh; no sleigh, no Santa; no Santa, no presents. It's that simple.
So we use technology to help us celebrate in our (too) sunny California house:
Here's my favorite card of the season -- I won't tell you who sent it, lest you pester her for a card next year.
My second favorite was a picture of Santa and sleigh landing on the moon, cursing his GPS.
And, finally, my new favorite New Year's Eve cartoon:
To all my LK bloggers and our readers—a very happy 2012!

Happy New Year.
Love the Poe card.
A nice review for Ann: http://www.cncbooks.com/blog/2011/12/28/book-review-mercurys-rise-by-ann-parker/

I would love for it to snow just once at Christmas. I took my kids to the park today and had to take off my sweatshirt because it was so sunny and hot out. Maybe next year.
Happy New Year!

Camille, We do get snow. Just not at Christmas. Remember last year? I think you should hold onto your Santa hat and pull it out when we do get our dusting and ride around your neighborhood shouting "ho ho ho" through a megaphone. That'll cement your reputation!

There hasn't been snow in my town for as long as I've been here -- decades! - Susan. Next time you get it, call me! :)

OK so I grew up with the white stuff and was young enough that I didn't have to shovel it, just roll around. It did snow my first night in Santa Fe though and I loved the dusting. Do I miss it? Yeah, a little... The cats are CA born, however, and might go a bit ballistic if one paw touched it. Hmm. So much for nostalgia! Thanks for giving me a post to let me do that, Camille. May 2012 be one of your best years!
