Math and Life

I thought  math quotes would be an appropriate placeholder for Mary Anna:

If people do not believe that mathematics is simple, it is only because they do not realize how complicated life is.  -- von Neumann

Also from  von Neumann, who was quite a CHARACTER: In mathematics you don't understand things. You just get used to them.

Hurrah for von Neumann! Sadly, I couldn't wait long enough to get used to math (algebra but geometry and I had a brief love affair...) before I nearly failed the course.

Had to have been the teacher, Priscilla. I believe it always goes back to the teacher -- sadly, for me it was the history "teacher" who was hired as the football coach. Enough said?
