Ah, but what will be the advice in five years? :-) And what programming language? Does it matter? (I learned FORTRAN ages ago, but don't ask me to program anything in it now!)

I see Fortran as Latin -- no one speaks it, but it teaches excellent logic and critical thinking skills!
