I was staggering through my morning walk this a.m. (3.5 mph) when the neurons finally lit up: Today is Saturday! Today is my day to blog on the LadyKillers.... and I forgot!
I staggered back (4.3 mph), thinking all the while of the erudite and philosophical subjects I could tackle on the topic of "OLDER." But on arriving home, I tossed all that aside, and decided to hit YouTube instead (my fallback for last minute postings).
So here's a little gem: a video (produced by Pfizer, so okay, there's a hidden agenda here) of a fellow who is still painting at 94, even with failing eyesight. As he talks, it's clear that it's the process of painting that he loves. Yeah, he won a prize back when he came out of the Army after World War II, but it's the simple (or complex) process of painting that brings him joy.
Here's hoping that I can reach 94 and also sing: "I love to read and write, and when I'm reading and writing I'm happy..." Not a bad way to grow older!
