About all I can say about endings, is that they are often not so much the finish of something as a door opening to something else. At least, in life... and often, in fiction. So, for this week's topic, I'm turning to other writers to find inspiration on what to say about endings, and, in some cases, their relationship to beginnings...
Human beings love stories because they safely show us beginnings, middles and ends. ~A. S. Byatt
Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end. ~Seneca
Every thing must have a beginning ... and that beginning must be linked to something that went before. ~Mary Shelley
The beginning is the promise of the end. ~Henry Ward Beecher
Great is the art of beginning, but greater is the art of ending. ~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop. ~Lewis Carrol
So that's it for 2016 for me... see you all in 2017: a new beginning!
