Very entertaining, Peggy. You showed us all about idioms and did it with the aplomb of a superb playwright. Bravo. It made my day.

I love this. So imaginative. I remember loving to say "It's raining cats and dogs, don't step in a poodle."

Margaret Lucke

Thank you, Michael and Ellen. This little playlet was fun to write. I could have gone on -- so many idioms and so little space.

This makes me realize how complicated the English language is,and how we throw these terms/phrases around without thinking. I guess this is one of the reasons it's difficult for a non-English person to learn our language. And, then there's the South, with so many colloquialisms (is that the right term?!!) and accents to add to the confusion. Enjoyed reading this😁
