I liked your blog anyway. I'd been told dogs usually belong in cozies. I don't believe it as you will see in my Wed. blog.

One of my publishers has taken to putting cats on covers of cozies, whether there cat characters in them or not. I can't tell you how many readers have been upset by this -- writing to tell me how disappointed they were not to find a cat between the covers.

If those readers knew me at all, they'd be grateful there are no cats (or any creatures with more more 2 legs) in my books. I'd have no idea how to treat them, to feed them, to even look at them without fear!


Animals definitely seem to be popping up more in books, particularly cozies. Each of my covers has Wilbur the pig on it, since he's a staple in the books, but my editor also enjoys putting other farm animals on there as well, like chickens and ducks.
