I agree, Priscilla. I can't stand it when the characters do dumb things, as if they've been on a steady diet of stupid pills. And I love your metaphor of our "lizard brains" taking over at night.


I hoped that would cause a chuckle or two!

In books 3 & 4 I've been calming Dot down. Letting the cops do the stupid dangerous things while she uses her brain to get them out of trouble.


You can control your characters, Ellen? Wow! Mine have me on a short leash! Joking aside, I like your approach.
