As a confirmed miniaturist, everyday is DIY day. I've shared my mini projects before, but here's a different twist.
The miniature below is based on an important scene in a well known movie. Can you guess which one? A prize to anyone who can name the movie and describe the scene in detail. An independent panel of judges will choose the winning entry. :)
Aargh! I haven't a clue.

Hint: it's not a Rom-Com. :)

No, Mary Donovan, but now I want to read IT again!
Hint for all: Think of my favorite movie trilogy.

The Godfather 1972 - Killing of Sollozzo and McCluskey

Great job on the miniature, Camille. It's the scene in the first Godfather movie where Michael meets Sollozzo and Captain McCluskey in the restaurant in the Bronx and gets the gun out of the flushbox to shoot them. McCluskey was played by one of my favorite old-time actors, Sterling Haden. Great movie

It's been a long time since I've seen The Godfather, so I didn't recognize the scene. But I did recognize the bathroom floor. The floor of the bathroom in the house I grew up was tiled in the same pattern and colors. Fortunately, our bathroom rarely had that much blood in the sink!

My comment was deleted apparently, :( -- good work Michael and Mary D. I'll leave it at that and see if this "takes".

A bit of a funny story regarding those old time flush boxes. My grandparents lived in an old house on Chicago's South Side (I lived there as a baby) and it had one of those old fashioned flush boxes on the wall. My grandfather got up one night to use the bathroom, and when he pulled down on the hanging cord, the box tipped forward and drenched him with cold water. Luckily, that didn't happen in the movie.

First time I've heard of that, Michael! It must awakened everyone!
